I was 34 yrs old and weighing 204 pounds when I decided I wanted to get back in a gym. After being in decent shape most of my life, I had felt like I needed to loose weight and get back in shape. I started jogging for several months around my neighborhood and realized it was starting to get boring for me. I then started doing some research on what type of gym I wanted to join in order to get in great physical shape. After asking around, I was told about the Sarasota fight/fitness club. Being a huge boxing fan all of my life I figured I would go down there and check it out. At first I thought I was probably too old to box and not in the physical shape to make it a realistic exercise for myself. My first impression on walking into the gym is that it's not just revolved around boxing, but fitness also. I saw a boxing ring, several boxing bags, treadmills, weights, and many fitness machines. I decided to give it a shot. I met Coach Alan Sleit there who runs the gym, he handed me a gym application with all the rules and regulations of the facility. On my first day there working out I saw all ages, genders and sizes. And realized that some of the people there were doing what I had in mind and bettering their body. I also noticed their were people that are there because they want to learn the sport of boxing for fitness, and others their that want to pursuit a career in boxing, Which was extremely motivating. After a month their I realized I love coming to this gym. I had learned the basics of boxing and was starting to get conditioning and stamina. I realized that the sport of boxing was a fun way to exercise and stay in shape. Now being their almost six months and about to turn 36 yrs old, I'm in incredible shape and haven't felt so strong and positive in a long time. My confidence level is sky high that I haven't felt in years. I'm weighing 156 pounds and I'm strong like I was when I was in my twenties again. The Sarasota fight/fitness club is a great gym to turn your lifestyle around and have a positive and clean environment to go to. It's welcomes all people of different races, genders, ages and physical goals. I also got the chance to meet 10 time world champion Hector "Macho" Camacho their one day, which was an incredible moment in my life. The sparring in the ring is heavily monitored and supervised by Coach Alan. He decides who can sparr determined on weight and experience. I now consider the Sarasota fight/fitness club a home away from home, and consider Coach Alan Sleit not just a trainer, but a good friend.

I moved from Orlando to Sarasota about 1 year ago with my 9 year old son Dylan. Recently ken (Dylan's step dad) and I asked Dylan to pick 3 sports he was interested in. Dylan picked (in order) Boxing, Football, and Baseball. It is difficult to place Dylan in any "team" sport due to seeing his dad in Orlando every other weekend. All the team sport schedules seem to play all games on Saturday or Sunday. So I was happy to hear boxing was his top choice. I was a little hesitant just because my lack of knowledge in the sport itself. So I goggled and researched and found Sarasota Fitness Club. What a wonderful place!! We were greeted by Coach Alan Sleit, who went over the club, equipment, hours, etc... I filled out Dylan's paperwork and Dylan agreed to the "rules" one of which was academic importance. Dylan's was then ready for his work out! Coach Alan spent one on one time with Dylan. They have a developed routine for kids stretch, jump rope, treadmill, shadow boxing, punching bag, speed bag, and abs. Dylan loved it!! They also encourage healthy eating! Sarasota Fitness Club is a diamond in the rough. In today's society we need to watch our children's health and our finances. This a place where your children can get fit, learn a sport and develop confidence with individual and group training without paying tons of money. You (the parents) can even join! I can't say enough about this club! It is refreshing to go somewhere and be focused on the sport and the individuals rather than the fluff (what it looks like, what people are wearing, who is doing better etc.) this just doesn't exist here! Everyone is so helpful! There are real boxers training here, real passion for the sport! They run in the heat, they sometimes run in the parking lot or run to the club instead of driving! Dylan gets to see these guys train! It is like having a sports idol everyday around you. That is motivation! I highly recommend anyone son, daughter, mom & dad to check out Sarasota Fitness Club aka Sarasota Fight Club! I am going to start working out while Dylan is soon!

Sarasota Fight and Fitness Club is the single best place to train in Sarasota. Coach Sleit is knowledgeable and constantly helpful, providing a caliber of one-on-one training that you won't find anywhere else for even close to $25. Everyone there does a phenomenal job of creating a welcoming environment and helping newcomers get their bearings. I can't recommend it enough.
